PM Vishwakarma :
On September 17th, 2023, the Prime Minister inaugurated the PM Vishwakarma initiative, a Central Sector Scheme aimed at providing comprehensive support to artisans and craftspeople who utilize manual labor and tools in their trades. This scheme encompasses artisans and craftspeople engaged in 18 different trades, including Carpenter (Suthar/Badhai), Boat Maker, Armourer, Blacksmith (Lohar), Hammer and Tool Kit Maker, Locksmith, Goldsmith (Sonar), Potter (Kumhaar), Sculptor (Moortikar, stone carver), Stone breaker, Cobbler (Charmkar)/Shoesmith/Footwear artisan, Mason (Rajmistri), Basket/Mat/Broom Maker/Coir Weaver, Doll & Toy Maker (Traditional), Barber (Naai), Garland maker (Malakaar), Washerman (Dhobi), Tailor (Darzi), and Fishing Net Maker.
Advantages of CSC PM Vishwakarma Yojana Registration
Under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, all artisans and craftspeople are entitled to the following benefits:
- A loan, up to the sum of Rs. 1,00,000/-, will be extended at a nominal interest rate of 5% during the first phase.
- In the second phase, a loan of up to Rs. 2,00,000/- will be accessible at the same favorable interest rate.
- Skill enhancement programs will be diligently provided.
- During the training period, a stipend of Rs. 500/- per day will be disbursed.
- An allowance of Rs. 15,000/- will be granted to facilitate the procurement of advanced tools.
- The PM Vishwakarma Certificate and Identity Card will be furnished.
Training & Skill Augmentation: A comprehensive training program, spanning six days, will be meticulously conducted.
Eligibility Criteria for PM Vishwakarma Scheme
- To avail of the benefits offered by the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, the following prerequisites must be met:
- The applicant must be a bona fide resident of India.
- The applicant must be a skilled artisan or craftsman.
